Zealand is a 30 lb lovebug! This perfect sized mama is around 2 years old and we think she is a Kelpie and Shepherd mix. She has spent the last several weeks caring for her 5 puppies but is finished with motherhood and ready for a home of her own. Zealand makes new friends easily, human and dog alike! Belly rubs and ear scratches are her two favorite pastimes. She sleeps in a pen separate from her puppies and is housetrained in her current foster home.
Zealand has medium energy and enjoys having two walks a day and a backyard to run around in. She loves to chase after all sorts of critters in the yard so may not be the best fit for a home with cats. Zealand has good leash manners, is treat motivated and enjoys chew toys or bones. She does get a little overenthusiastic at times - she has the cutest happy dance! - and is working on not jumping up for attention. She has a condition called Valley Fever that affects her joints and is managed with daily medication. She occasionally walks with a slight limp but it definitely doesn't slow her up much!
