Sweet mama Arkansas is around 2 years old and looks to be a Lab and Shepherd mix. She was rescued with her 10 puppies from a farm that had too many dogs and couldn't properly care for them all. Now she is ready to put parenthood behind her in favor of her own home. She is doing wonderfully in her foster home where she is now your normal dog, and she’s even house trained! Like most young dogs, if she doesn’t get her zoomies out and has some pent-up energy, she starts making her own chew toys. Therefore, it’s important that she has an active family that takes her for daily walks or has a yard to expel her energy. Arkansas LOVES her walks and doing some familiar exploring. At the dog park, she finds a dog or two that she likes and will stick with them, check back in with Foster Mom, then go play again. She used to fear unfamiliar dogs and strangers but has come a long way! Now that her bond with Foster Mom is strong, she trusts that she won’t be put in an unsafe situation. She doesn’t need a doggy sibling to be happy and would probably adjust best in a home without too many new elements. She isn’t ready for a family with children, unless they’re older and contribute to a calm household. Once she acclimates, and it may take some time, she’d likely do well with a dog sibling or a growing family!

Arkansas absolutely loves her walks and all adventures. She LOVES the water and splashing around at the beach. She also enjoys hikes and other outdoor activities. On walks, she collects treasures to bring home and play with, like sticks and pinecones. It doesn't take much to entertain this girl! She’s doing much better in the car, though she does tend to get car sick on longer drives. Arkansas needs a mellow household with an owner who understands shy dogs and is willing to put in the extra energy and training to help her blossom into the best dog that she can be. Once Arkansas bonds with you, she’s an absolute love bug (and she thinks she’s a lap dog!). If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Arkansas, then fill out an adoption application on our website today! We recommend completing the application process and connecting with a adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps.

Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing.
